We love the name Sasha for our baby's first name and decided to honor both families with her middle name. That is where the Mae comes in.
Cheryl's grandmother's name was Anna Mae and Dave's mom's (top right) name is Ella Mae. The middle picture is Cheryl's mom and dad.
We chose to spell Mae the chinese way which is Mei - it is so beautiful, but also the words "mei mei" in chinese mean "little sister".

Where's Sasha Mei?
An Excerpt from "An Orphan's Prayer"
Even as I lay in the darkness
Each night somehow I feel assured,
That no matter how lost I appear,
I am not alone.
Holy hands guard my steps;
sacred fingers wipe my tears,
touching my lonely heart.
The One who made me,
The God that knew me before I was born,
Hears me every time I call.
He whispers His promises in my ear.
I listen with hope to His voice.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart."

Sasha's big brother and sister!!!!
Kisses in the Wind

I hold you in my heart and touch you in my dreams.
You are here each day with me, at least that’s how it seems.

I know you wonder where we are…what’s taking us so long,
But remember child, I love you so and God will keep you strong.

Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin,
Because tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.

May God hold you in His hand until I can be with you.
I promise you, my darling, I’m doing all that I can do.

Very soon, you’ll have a family for real, not just pretend,
But for tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.

May God wrap you in His arms and hold you very tight,
And let the angels bring the kisses that I send to you each night.

Here is a closer look at the chandelier!

Mikelle & I think the bathroom is perfect for a little girl! Dave and Brady both had the same comment when we asked them about it: "It's pink!!!"

I think the room really turned out great. I especially like the chandelier and wall sconces! This picture is of the changing room. On the wall is written the verse, "You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed." -Psalm 139:16

To Sasha with love

What a fitting day to begin our blog for and to our baby Sasha - Valentine's Day 2007! This will be the place where we share our journey to China and our adoption of our baby. It seems like forever since we started this process. But we know God's timing is perfect and so we wait on Him. "Do not fear, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the East and gather you from the West." Isaiah 43:5

Over a year ago God laid it upon our hearts that he had a very special assignment for us. He had been leading us in the direction of adoption for many years and yet the timing never really felt right. Thankfully, we have listened to His direction in our lives! God has showed us that this is what He has called us to do and we are so excited for what He is doing in our lives. We are honored to have been led on this mission. "No eye has seen, nor ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." 1 Corinthians 2:9

For now we prepare for Sasha's arrival by doing the little things - preparing the room, buying the crib, keeping on top of the paperwork which continues to have to be updated. Here are some pictures of her room!
