I think I am getting the hang of this. All the writing is in chinese on blogspot so I've had to try to remember where all the buttons are in order to publish this! Fun! We have had an very full day! At breakfast this morning they were about to have a wedding in the courtyard - everything was red and pink the runner down the aisle, the chairs, the flowers, EVERYTHING!

In Dave's bible reading this morning God gave him the perfect scripture- Psalm 128:5: "May the Lord bless you from Zion all the days of your life; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem, and may you live to see your children's children!" What a blessing and confirmation that was to us both!
Then off to a Christian church service - had to show our passport in order to be allowed to attend.

After that to the Jade factory and the cloisonne factory (those are the beautiful ornate Asian vases you see of all different sizes and colors and designs). Finally, off the Great Wall! It was absolutely incredible - we got our workout in today.

More of the same yummy food for lunch and dinner and then off to the Chinese Acrobatics show tonight. Finally, after all of that and the traffic jam (what are all these people doing out on a Sunday night?), we are back in our room.

Tomorrow we leave 5:30 am and fly Guangzhou where we spend the rest of our time. We found out today that our daughter's chinese name means "fancy girl". We think it will fit her perfectly - Dave says it reminds him of me and I immediately thought of my grandma (who the Mae comes from). She was definately a fancy lady!

We will meet Sasha sometime tomorrow and hopefully posting will be easier from now on! Off to sleep - it's been a long day!

We are here! It has been difficult to upload pictures so I'll see how it goes. A quick few notes. There are bicyclists everywhere and they dart in and out of cars like they have 9 lives. Our taxi driver almost ran over a couple of them on the way to dinner and then today (Sunday) I almost got run over by a couple bikers as I stepped off our bus!

For dinner last night we had several lovely choices including duck feet, duck tongue or duck intestines, but we finally found an egg roll and a couple of other items that we shared with our table. We''ll be eating lots of almonds while we are here!

Had my first "opportunity" to use a squatty potty, but fortunately all the places we have been have also had regular toilets so that is good:)

Last night we visited Tian An Men Square. When we got there we were ambushed by about 20 men who wanted to give us rides in their rickshaws. I thought it was hilarious but Dave and the other couple with us weren't quite as amused! We saw our first real pair of split pants on a little guy - you definately have to watch for puddles around here! The part that made me sad about the whole evening was almost all the toddlers we saw were boys.
