I decided to post some pictures from yesterday and today at one time. We've had an eventful couple of days. Since it is difficult to go back and check what I've posted, I apologize in advance if I'm saying the same thing twice or posting the same pictures, because I don't remember! Sasha had a rough day today. She has several large knots on her head which the doctor from Cinci Childrens seems to think are probably bites. Her head is extremely sore so we have to be careful. She also has many bites on her back around the diaper line and it is obvious she has had many bites throughout the past year of her life because of all the scars on her little legs. Fortunately we are pretty well prepared with all of the medicines that we were told to bring. We have used lots of them!!! I guess because of the special hands that cared for Sasha, I didn't expect this, but I can only imagine what all the children in the regular orphanages most be like.
Sasha has been pulling on her ear somewhat too, so when you're praying it would be great to add that to your list. Our doctor at Cinci CMC says if the knots don't go down with the antibiotic by Monday we are to take her to a doctor here since we won't be home until next Sunday.
She has also developed a sudden aversion to the high chair and screams any time we get near one. We've stopped asking for one at the restaurants! That will have to change when we get home but for now we are told just get through our time here and address that kind of issue when we return.
There are so many beautiful families that we have met that have travelled here to bring home their first, second, or third little girl. The people here say to us, "lucky girl, lucky girl". After spending just 7 days here I can see why they say it. It is a totally different life. I really can't imagine what it would have been like for Sasha here especially with her special need.
We waited in line at the grocery store yesterday for 45 minutes just to check out and there were many lanes. Took a cab to go to dinner and ended up on a tour of the city and eventually back at our hotel because the concierge didn't write the proper location on the paper we gave the driver. The zoo we visited would be closed down for cruelty to animals in the US. There were many many rats running around with the monkeys and we had the opportunity to pay extra to go in with the monkeys and play. Ughhhh!
Today after our visit to the zoo Sasha cried and cried and cried. The good thing about that is she is learning it is okay. Her sad little whimper when they placed her in my arms was heartbreaking. I could tell she had learned to hold it all. But she really cried today so that is good.
Enough for now, I need to get some sleep. Thank you to all our faithful loved ones who are continually lifting us up in prayer. We are so blessed and grateful for your love and support.
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father..." James 1:17
